SAJI TAKESHI

Takeshi Saji is the third-generation head of Saji Uchi Hamono, a knife manufacturer based in Takefu City, Fukui Prefecture, one of Japan's leading knife-making regions.

At the young age of 44, he was certified as a traditional craftsman. Now with over 30 years of experience and skill, he makes a variety of hatchets, knives, and handles.

While having inherited the tradition, they are not bound by it, and they also have blade designs that incorporate Western tastes, as well as sports knives.

He creates a unique worldview by manipulating highly functional materials such as ironwood and micarta. His knives made from colored Damascus are especially famous and popular due to their beautiful appearance.
