Takeda knives are made in Niimi, the home of the ancient iron-making method "Tatara" in the Chugoku Mountains, using traditional hand-forged techniques and metal engineering theory to forge each knife with care and dedication. Takeda knives, which combine "sharpness" and "durability," have fans all over the world and are always on backorder. We recommend purchasing them as a set with a hand-held whetstone for easy sharpening!
What is Super Blue steel?
This is a high-carbon, low-impurity steel made from a vacuum-melted vanadium alloy. It is the highest quality carbon steel produced at Hitachi Metals' Yasugi Works.
Stainless steel core, high-quality rosewood handle
All Takeda knives have stainless steel inner cores that make them less susceptible to corrosion.
The handle is made of durable rosewood and is octagonal, making it easy to grip.
Specifications: Each knife is handmade, so the size, weight, and blade finish may vary.
